That depends on whether the performance IS affected or not. It happens intermittently on my D4 when on cruise control and starting uphill at over 50mph whole towing. No effect on performance. Some people blame it on a faulty fuel pressure sensor. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

I had the restricted performance on my d4 recently. Turned out it had a split inlet manifold. What’s the Milage? Apparently the right side fails around the 70,000 mark and 110,000 for the left. Pop the engine cover off and have a look for some very fine cracks.

You could try getting fault codes read. My restricted performance was the map sensor. Tried cleaning but had to buy another.

I have had codes read five times now - but there is nothing recorded. A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Had this on mine a few weeks ago and it was awful to drive with 'real' restricted performance. LRA read the codes and it was the first stage MAP sensor. Could also be a split manifold as others have said but you'd need to check the codes and do a bit of diagnosis to be sure. Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE '65 - Projects in planning phase!

I wish I'd seen this video before I had my issue resolved. If you've got an IID tool, it's got to be worth a try to self diagnose.

Who is reading them? A dealer or someone with a scan tool? It's possible if it's someone other than a dealer that they're not viewing the "pending" faults which is where many of the restricted performance errors hide. For the IID Tool you need to go into the settings and tell it to show "pending" faults as an example.

In my case it is the staff at a main dealer. Their D3/4 expert (who now wears a suit) also came and did it with no further success. We have decided whatever it is must be a bit like the "open bonnet" type of warning. Appears on screen but no record made. Many of these errors clear when the engine is turned off and thus, if you don’t get the reader on it when the error is showing, no evidence remains annoyingly.

I get this intermittently. It appears when I fill up, get the car cleaned or it rains heavy. Mine is due to a faulty fuel sensor.
