For the price of a D4 map update you can get a TomTom with worldwide mapping, regular automatic map updates, speed cameras and, for a few squid more, an inbuilt GSM modem so you can get live traffic updates that actually are useful.
No contest IMO.

Well after doing mine Wednesday I have to say they are a complete load of rubbish.
2 major roads around my way that have been opened since December 2015 and a 2017 latest version update does not show them. I have actually asked for my money back.

Not that I have noticed. Personally I do not think it’s worth the money especially if it’s supposed to be latest Edition and they can’t include main roads that have been open for over a year. That’s why I have asked for my money back on the grounds that it’s not up to date.

Just to be different we have a MY2011 XS and had the HDD system updated about 2 or 3 years back and whilst there are shortfalls on the mapping I find the system works well, and especially like the way it shows all upcoming exits and service areas when on a route and the way it links to the on board computer and does such things as show all petrol stations when running low on fuel. However the thing I would like to see is the ability to put in details of your trailer for route purposes - for this I admit to having a Garmin Camper 770 which is brilliant. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

Hi
Did you return your disk for a refund? If not I could buy it from you.
Let me know
Cheers
Matt

It’s not a disc it’s a usb stick that goes in the usb point in top glove box and then downloads in to the system. I didn’t return it just received some money back as I had already downloaded it. If you have the disc type under the front seat you can buy the discs for about £25.

Yes 2014 the same. I do still have usb stick but guessing as I have used it to download that’s it. I think it’s specific to a vehicle as you have to register your car then get a activation code.

Way to much for something that is already out of date. I don’t remember exactly but think it was about £160.

Ok thanks pal. Might be worth asking when the next update will be, never know it might actually capture some of the newer roads!

Apparently they are not doing anymore for the D4. Typical really the value of the D4 and the sat nav are pants and out of date.
