We are moving to Australia. So this is a one-way trip.
Next we are supposed to go to Tibet - Nepal - India - Myanmar - Thailand - Malaysia - ship to aus.
But flooding has damaged a bridge at the China - Nepal border and we may have to go to Laos and skip Tibet, Nepal, India and Myanmar. Shame but you can’t control natural disasters.
I must say the d3 has performed well. I’m carrying iidtool as diagnostics - is a must.
I do my own oil, fuel and air filter changes and so far she’s been very reliable.
Here’s hoping she stays that way

All our mods are reversible as I expect to use this vehicle as a normal car in aus.

Drive to Nz to visit.
Would definitely recommend. Trip has been great.
Mostly tarmac possible unless you go looking for off road.
Our car may end up in NZ actually. That’s where we are from and it’s easier to import a car there. So at the end of the trip the car may end up there.

Great update on the Kiwi blog yesterday, and love following the track. Though SWMBO thinks the latter is stalking.
So many questions for a silmilar jolly, but unfortunately SWMBO’s not keen on heading to Singapore other than via Changi.

Did you paint or wrap the Bonnet? I'm thinking the same thing, for my hood/bonnet, Maya Gold, blacked-out headlights inside painted, tinted side, and soon tail lights.
Did you DIY the hood? The glare where I am currently working is horrible. Funny what a little difference on elevation will do to your sightlines, I get a lot of glare off the hood.

The bonnet is wrapped with the matt wrapping film. Easy job.

No - I carry the spare fuel and it is sufficient - 170 l in total. I'm traveling in CEE countries and Balkans, where gas station density is OK.

Air to coil conversion installation issues
H there,
First of all the conversion looks great!!
I too had planned to convert from air suspension too coil. Total failure of the air suspension forced me to bring my plans forward.
I purchased an air to coil conversion kit from terrafirma (made by Dunlop- part reference RD1425). I went for the 2 inch lift kit as I intend to load up the vehicle for an overland trip with the family of 4 plus roof tent, bikes etc..
My mechanic (a Land Rover specialist) is having real problems fitting the kit. So far he has only attempted one of the rear struts and is telling me they are too long. He is having trouble lowering the wishbone to meet the connecting eye at the bottom of the strut. Do you have any tips or advice?
I thought this was going to be a relatively easy job but it is turning into a bit of nightmare...

This project looks absolutely amazing! I am thinking about converting mine to lifted springs now that the air system is starting to fail, but couldn't find a proper Prox vs Cons list to make a decision. Might have to do and publish one here. Specially concerned with MOT (legality to the road) and insurance (altered vehicle?)...Kleb
