Yes you need to have the lights mapped out of the system

Hi everyone, I have a question about blanking EGR valves, reading through the new MOT rulings, won't blanking the EGR be classed as an MOT failure from May 2018?

Do a search on here, it's been covered a number of times. Provided there is no visible change it should be fine. They are not allowed to remove engine covers etc. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

I have a 2008 D3, don't know if anyone else has had this issue with their EGR valve's but...
Had management light come on, noted issue with left bank voltage, confirmed egr issue with tap test... However due to the issue dropping the voltage it kicked the electrical system and caused the "boing of doom" to trigger the thee amigos - very annoying on a bank holiday weekend away with the tin tent!
So currently running EGR disconnected and butterfly valve temp removed, and I must say - what a difference!
Now, the question I have which I can't seem to find is that once I have the EGR replaced (due to fault causing voltage issues) will running the engine with the butterfly removed maintain the current performance or do I need to blank the valves also?
I'm happy to blank and get the required map, just a question...
