The sensor / switch for this is below the passenger side catch, it's sticking, free it off and lube it up with oil or spray grease Thumbs Up

Same here.... It just gets a bit 'gummed' up - so a quick clean and lube should do the trick.

Mine did it for a while until cleaned - no messages since Thumbs Up

I had a similar problem on my discovery 3 2007: a message of Bonnet open (on dashboard) and the security alarm was going off all the time. I bought an original latch and sensor from Land Rover for £30. I watched a short clip on YouTube and managed to replace it within 10 minutes with no skills or experience. Everything seems working as it should be. No message and the most important, no alarm. Hope this will help someone with a similar problem.

In recent years I've given the latch a quick squirt of WD40 every time I change the Engine oil, which is @6 months or 7000 miles.
I've not had that message since.

Mine has a trusty paper clip in it. 7 years ago and never had a problem. Just need to make sure the bonnet is properly shut though !!
