Guys,
As you know I have allways had intermitent operation of my rear PDC.
It allways seemed to occur when first setting off straight into reverse, IE this was when it did not work.
Anyway I have now found that if I start the car as usual in the morning, go through the usual procedure, agree to the sat nav screen, the raise suspension to normal height, and now the third step in the logic chain - release the electric park brake, manually, the rear PDC allways activates!!
Hurray!!!
It seems the key part of the sequence is the park brake release.
As I have an Auto box I allways let the auto disenage feature work when pulling away.
In fact I embarressed to say that I did not even realise that if you push the brake button down it realease it !! - Doh!
Not sure if this will work for owners of manual boxes, though I cant recall if they were affected by this gremlin.
I hope you have allready found this out by yourselves, if not hope it works for you.
As usual why the hell did my dealer not know about this?
Cheers.

Well done nigel. There are so many things that are inter-related on this vehicle !
By the way. Are you in a position to give an update on the accessory telephone system you had installed ?

Yep it seems so, its like going back to the old days with logic and flow diagrams to find faults in electrical systems eh?
As far as the PTI is concerned, I have no news.
I told the dealer I was not happy to pay until they have made it a useable system.
I have had no response from them, written or verbal.
I have written to LR customer services, and to Nokia.
Neither have responded!!
No change there then!!

Sorry to hear that, but normal as you say. There are some service papers on the GTR site about the phone. Not sure what they say though.
On another topic, Today I finally saw those strange rotating bars through the rear of the chassis beams near the exaust outlet pipes just behind the bumper. Must be, as you though, some form of vibration damping. Interesting.

Yep,
I assumed the same - vibration damping of the chassis I think.
I did send in some pics to here and the chronicle, but no one ever commented on them!!
Geuss we are not alone in wondering what they do eh? Nige - 2014 Disco 4 TDV6 HSE Luxury - Scotia Grey
