suspension raising to extended mode on its own
Hello all,
Has anyone had similar behaviour to what I am experiencing recently:
on pretty much every occassion while accessing my own parking space or company multistorey car park I lower the car but upon driving off it displays the message: raising the car to extended mode to clear the obstacle???
Today I have put it in access which would not go into normal height even when driving 30+ mph.
There are no faults displayed when scanning ECUs with IIDTool so a bit puzzled with this.
Would appreciate any ideas what too look at besides typical. I do not think it has a leak as once left car is solid level and has not changed values diplayed in IIDTool related to height and calibration.

hi
when i first got my Disco it done that when i started the engine , would come up with the extended mode
used some electrical spray on all of the height sensors and touch wood has been fine
when u go into access mode do u also lock it plse
just an idea have u looked at the sensors to ensure there secured correctly and no sign of frayed wires
if wires are frayed , the forum shop sell the height sensor repair looms

Hi,
I only lock it occassionaly if driving into very low spaces. Just checked workshpo manual which point to damaged or blocked air harrness for same behavious.
System detects
extended mode
unnecessarily
when lowering
- - Crossed gallery and
air spring pipes
Incorrect valve block
installed to front or
rear
Damage or blockage
in air harness
Refer to the guided diagnostic
routine ....
Time to drop it off to stealers since warranty still applies.
Thanks for feedback I was also thinking of checking height sensors.

no worries , will be good if ur warranty will cover it, even better seeing it’s too dam cold working on the landy
assume they mean that loom behind the front passenger side that can cause all sorts of issues if wires have rubbed against the body

Check the live values of the height sensors with the Iid tool when you lower the suspension. Check the ride height at normal height, distance from center of wheel to wheel arch is correct, if it is low when lowering the car will hit the bump stops and think it has grounded, it then goes into off road height automatically to clear what it thinks is an obstacle.
You could also put the satnav in 4x4 info and lower the suspension and look for irregularities, if one sensor is faulty again it will think it's grounded and go into off-road height.It can when others can't,

It goes where others don't.

So after a bit of playing with IIDTool and some recalibration car is behaving again. At least it did for a last few days.
