Having owned all types of landrover and especially been a big fan of the Disco 3, it is with much sorrow that the financial burden of trying to keep one on the road has finally caused me to get rid of it. In the last year I have spent in excess of 5K to keep a car I bought for 7K on the road. In that time I have done 22K miles in it and loved driving it. The sheer cost of ownership has finally outweighed the Landrover gene that I have been blessed/cursed with. When it went, it had lowered its suspension, ABS had stopped working, there was no speedo, the only fault that showed was right rear ABS sensor not working, despite replacing it. The final straw was the tailgate catch jamming and the front wheels knocking at full lock ( something I had previously cured ).
I got 2.75K for it on trade in, and still cannot believe anyone would take it off my hands.
Many thanks to all members of the forum who helped me from time to time, when I was baffled by the thing and depressed by the monetary outlay. I will miss the advice and entertaining posts.
I still believe the Disco is an incredible vehicle, I just cannot finance my dream
Cheers and thanks to you all I have Landrover disease
