EPB and Vehicle Vibration
Hi all,
I've had a couple of screeches when trying to apply the EPB (quickly disengaged) so I gather that this needs adjusting from a search on the forum.
Before this though I'd sometimes get a vibration from the vehicle not long after setting off and at a speed of 50mph. It happened around 2-3 times and I've no idea what it could be. Since it hasn't happened after the EPB screeching could it be related?
I'm hoping I've only got 1 problem to fix. The D4 has the Land Rover approved warranty which I imagine wont cover wear and tear parts.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your problem has all the hallmarks of an un-serviced EPB.
The EPB is not in itself an issue, but it needs maintenance and all too frequently left unchecked until it breaks.
Your screeching sounds very much like broken shoe material inside the disc/drum. It needs stripping , cleaning and new parts as required (shoes, springs etc), then adjusting in the approved Bodsy Brake Bible manner...note the two adjustments. The allen key is often overlooked.
If you've messed with brakes and drums before, it's a doddle.

I’ve not had a screech on applying the EPB but I’ve had a near constant screech whilst driving and that was the EPB shoe lining breaking up. I suspect if the screech is when you apply the EPB, it’s seizing up or seized already and needs cleaning and lubing, it may also need new shoes too. If you sort it early it will save a lot of grief later.
If it’s been serviced by LR and at the right time, I think you may have a warranty case as it should have been serviced.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Mine screeched for a few days, so I stopped using it whilst waiting to get it looked at. Then mistakenly applied it and it worked fine, used it a couple more times until it made a horrendous noise and jammed on.
It is surprisingly effective at stopping a Discovery from moving, I was in a hurry (moving house), so just thought I would stick it in drive and go, but it didn’t budge. Pulled the emergency release and ended having everything replaced, even with my independent doing the work it was still around £1,000, so make sure you get it looked at quickly!Andy

Thanks team.
I'll go ask at the local LR dealer what the deal is with the warranty. If it's not covered then I'll buy the parts and service the EPB myself using the Bodsy brake bible.
