If it's coming from the front it could be a damaged/worn belt, although it would be present all the time It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

As soon I'll try to recorder it..

Here a recorded session of mine
But, in the meantime I was doing the recording, it's been my neighbor who has a Discovery 4 2014 211HP 8 speed commercial. His was just turned on (few mins), so the engine was cold and even on his it felt the same noise.
Maybe I'm making too many mental masturbations .....
But I haven't experiences on this engines......

I have a 2014 SDV6 engine and it makes the same ticking noise when warm. Was planning to take it to the dealer to look at when booking for a service.

Today I changed (again) the oil to check if in the oil filter are present mechanical particles. But the filter it's absolutely clean without any kind of metallic particles or powder .....
(white small spots are oil bubble on the filter housing or the filter paper bristle illuminated by the flash of the camera).
Checked and re-checked, seen and re-seen, filter is clean!)
