Not too sure if the spline is hardened metal and the arm is a softer metal, allowing the spline to cut its own groove

The spline is steel, the arm is made from soft alloy with the abrasion resistance of chocolate.

Ok will invest in a new arm. When I had a brief look yesterday, the pivot was rusty, so probably past their best anyway.

1. Remove wiper arm.
2. Place bottle top over spline, smoothing it to contours.
3. Locate wiper arm over newly moddled spline.
4. Using lump hammer, hit wiper arm as hard as possible.
5. Repeat but this time move fingers first .
6. Refit nut.
7 Wiper arm now secure and will never slip again.
Skimmed, Semi Skimmed or Full Fat of your choice
You must have done that in your early days - even on those vacuum operated wipers

Ok I was wondering how the I was supposed to lever a wiper arm off a splined taper with a milk bottle top!
I see your logic, but having suffered a lost wiper in a snowstorm in the past, I think I’ll play safe and buy a new arm.
I had a Fiat Punto once and it’s wiper mechanism managed to snap, and the wipers tangled up on the motorway. Needed recovery to get home. Wipers are pretty essential!!

Mine was just the same.
Clean the splines on the spindle to remove any remains of the softer material of the old arm. Then fit a new arm New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!
