Bracket Thingy that comes with rear mud flaps
A long year is drawing to a close which is probably why I can't get my head around where to fit the 2 bracket thingys that come with the rear mud flaps. It looks as if I can fit the flaps without the bracket but it was obviously supplied for a purpose. There are no brackets supplied with the front ones which I fitted in a couple of minutes.
Short of looking around car parks for a D3 with rear flaps then pretending to drop something whilst I look at how they're fitted, can anyone take me a photo clearly showing how they are fitted?

Are they the large Aussie style ones?
Can't take picture without removing as it is behind the flap.
The bracket slots into the flap with the bent ends first AFAICR.
If they are the Aussie ones this is what will happe to them.

I'll certainly be turning up to some D3 meets / events in the New Year.

You have to look up under the rear of the truck behind the mud flap. They attach to the new blue insert that came with your kit facing forward. The hole at the end of the bracket will line up with a hole already in your fenderwell. You will probably need to bend the heat shield back a little to get your fingers in there. If you have extra screws around, I would replace the supplied ones with a similar type that have a 8mm head instead of a phillips head. This will make tightening them down easier. Make sure the attachment point on the truck (not the flap) is tight before you put your flaps in place. The body attachment screw is hard to get to after the flaps are in place. If this doesn't make sense, I can take a digital photo of mine tomorrow and upload it.

There appear to be brackets for the front flaps - Only reason I know is that the front near side is now coming away and i bend the bracket and re seat the flap every now and again.
All mine are now split and to be honest are not worth having fitted if you intend to go off road over anything mildly challenging. They will get dinged at the weekend again I'm sure so will be coming off if I can find a short stubby screwdriver to get at the screws.
If I were you, I'd stick the LR mud flaps on ebay and make some like TFC and Slimer - at least they don't tear and rip at the first twig you encounter and because you can make them any length you want, the actually work.
I believe the favourite choice at present is Disco1 fronts for the front and Series I or III (not sure) for the back - as these come with LR logos they don't look out of place either.
