ongoing suspension woes...

So I've been driving the D3 now for almost 2 years (possibly more actually) with suspension warning lights on, and we get the all, amber, red, 30mph max speed on dash, spoecial programs switching off, unable to actually adjust the height a lot of the time blah blah.

Although the car drives like a total piece of pooh suspension wise it does drive, and doesn't do anything to force you to slow down at all, so I've just kept going, but aware it needs sorting.

I'll probably take it to my trusted indie once I have some cash but in the mean time here are some quite unique symptoms:

The suspension fault is pretty much never present when the car is first turned on, and at this stage you can normally put the height up and select special programs no bother. Once out on the road though, the amber, and often red warnings come on pretty much without fail, and I get the Max 30mph message too.

More recently whist carrying out umpteen other repairs on the car I noticed quite specifically lowering the car is an issue in particular, if it's been up for example. I ended up doing this so many times that I actually noticed that when you lower it from extended mode, the front goes down fine, then the rear tries to go down, doesn't, and then the whole car goes back up. If I'm lucky a couple of goes and it's back down, if not it's car off keys out, round and round several times... Then I noticed that one rear corner is sitting low, not by a huge amount, but it is noticeable at least to me, certainly at normal height, but not examined it at other heights but this is constant, not occasional.

Any clues, answers on the back of a postcard etc etc.

If the car tried to lower the rear and it won't go down, the car thinks/assumes it has hit the ground and therefore raises (so you can clear the ground).

If the suspension air can't exhaust the air out the system quick enough, that would cause it.

THere is an exhaust on the compressor I think ?

But a faulty height sensor or calibration issue could also cause it.

Do you are get 30MPH Max dash warnings constantly while driving, or just once and then it drops?

I would have my LR button on the fob programmed to suspension, so I could raise and lower it with the remote 8)
