Headlights

Why is this the only car ever (I may be wrong) that they won’t allow you to upgrade the headlights to xenon with signature LED on the low spec model ?

Surely if the Land Rover buyer on the poverty line can afford to upgrade that’s ok ?

If their halogen lamps weren’t so sh Censored te then it might not be so necessary !

LR aren't interested in anyone on the automotive poverty line. Thumbs Up

Absolutely.

I did have the use of a D5, with the standard LED set up, for the best part of a week. They were very odd; they were definitely a fairly bright, cold white but, unlike the Xenon projectors on the D4, had very poor focus/projection. They looked like the splodge of undirected light that you might expect from a powerful reversing lamp.

I'd recommend trying before you buy, especially as there's a £400 option to upgrade to the Adaptive version that might improve them a bit Thumbs Up

Can’t fault the standard LED headlights, about the only thing I can’t fault at the moment.

That was how I ended up with an SE over the S. I wanted an S with cloth seats, yes cloth seats, 3.0 engine and Xenons as per my D4 SE poverty spec. LR says no, can’t be done. So went with SE which was more than I really wanted to spend but with a bit of pushing the monthly’s weren’t too far away from the S.

If come facelift time LR tweak the spec and make LEDs an option I may take the 2.0 Si4 petrol S. But that’s a big if, not overly impressed with the D5 at the moment or LRs lack of interest in resolving issues. I feel I’ve paid premiership prices but got a pub league car.

Signature lights are great along with, Auto dip and main. Junction recognition. Built up area recognition. Turn recognition. Over 11,000 miles and no issue's, passengers are happy it's a great car.
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

What is Junction recognition. Built up area recognition. Turn recognition.??? I have had my D5 HSE TD6 for a week now and not noticed anything linking Auto High Beam Assist to what you describe above? Other than I find it annoying that it auto dips at slow speed which is most frustrating just as I slow and turn up my drive.

Is mine broken? Are these features you mention easy to check? And surely like on any cheap motor these days my fogs should be corner assist at slow speed??
