Car not moving when in gear
Hi
My first post here.
I have had my Discivery for only two months and the same problem has happened three times.
At first I thought it was because if the cold weather, but yesterday it wasn’t that cold.
What happens is, I start the car, put into first gear and it will not pull away. Also happens in reverse. Have tried pulling away in second. The revs go up and it makes a horrendous noise. It’s like something is stuck. It jolted a few times but then stopped.
Fed up as I had a Toyota before for six years with no problems at all.

Assuming from ref to 1st & 2nd a manual. So not the usual auto sticky linkage then.
As Richard says please fill your profile in and state manual or auto. Don't jump off the motorway bridge just yet as help will be along shortly The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;

He's safe on that front, it's far too long a walk to the M25 from Guidford.

ah sorry I thought I had done that when I signed in.
It’s manual, 2015 plate.

2015 or 2005? Disco 3 or 4? Manual 2015 doesn't make any sense as the last manual boxes fitted to Discos were in very early 2.7 D4 commercials, discontinued shortly after the D4 came in.

Apparently the clutch has gone. It has to be towed to the dealer.

Hi Hodges -
Hope it all goes well at the dealers
Some confusion on this thread as your Disco model is a bit different to ours as we haven't seen a new manual since 2009

I did try and post a picture but failed...lol
Yes the engineer said you don’t see many manuals for this particular model. Didn’t want an automatic.
Thank you. They are recovering it and giving me a courtesy car.
