No mate, but looking at a Pyrenees trip at Easter time. Roof tent would probably be more suited I think.D4.5 Facelift, Lazer ST4, Prospeed underbody and rack, IID BT, Compomotive/BFG KO2, Series MFlaps, RAI, Dog Gd+XBB, Alive Tuned, T-Max/YellowTop, RemoteFBH, GlassesMod, WheelWinchMod, Jack Mod, LED Mods, Seized Crank Mod....

I would be careful and perhaps consider how much off-roading you are doing and what potential there is for damaging a RT.
I went to the Pyrenees in May this year and really wanted the to take my RT, but was glad in the end I only had a small two-man, pop-up tent with me.
That said, RTs are great. Had many a great holiday/break in mine with the kids.

I'd be following the vibraction road book. What kind of damage did you experience?D4.5 Facelift, Lazer ST4, Prospeed underbody and rack, IID BT, Compomotive/BFG KO2, Series MFlaps, RAI, Dog Gd+XBB, Alive Tuned, T-Max/YellowTop, RemoteFBH, GlassesMod, WheelWinchMod, Jack Mod, LED Mods, Seized Crank Mod....
I didn't because I didn't take it. But we quite often encountered overhanging branches and scrub that could tear the covers of a soft top tent.
And don't forget, you're adding approx. 60kg+ to the top of the car. An extra dimension I may have felt uncomfortable with on occasions.Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! Expected to experience**
Oh ok, thanks. Well if they'd tear the cover, can't imagine what they'd be doing to the car's paintwork. D4.5 Facelift, Lazer ST4, Prospeed underbody and rack, IID BT, Compomotive/BFG KO2, Series MFlaps, RAI, Dog Gd+XBB, Alive Tuned, T-Max/YellowTop, RemoteFBH, GlassesMod, WheelWinchMod, Jack Mod, LED Mods, Seized Crank Mod....
Well yes. Mine has damaged paintwork to the sides but I went knowing that would probably happen.
Some has buffed out with Fareclars and some will with a pro job but, having done a trip a couple of weeks ago, with another planned for January and one in May/June, I'm not going to get precious about getting it done. I'll worry about that if I ever sell the car.
Have a quick look at this, it's one of the rock crawls we did. The video doesn't really show off some of the angles the car achieved. But an RT on the roof with a couple of spares and some jerrys is a lot of weight up there!
And yes, that was me getting told off by a certain forum goer!!!! Front Runner Rack, OEM Ladder & RAI, Tuff-Trek Foxwing, B'rakhah Ingonyama Expedition Trailer, RLD's Spare Wheel Protector, Bodsy's Bars, Empty Pockets! Member of Gloucestershire & Worcestershire 4x4 Response.

Must admit my Jerry cans were fairly well scratched following the RB5, that was in August so tree cover might be less severe at Easter iid BT, Devon 4x4 sump guard, Compomotive PD1881s with 33” Toyo Open Country MT’s, Prospeed Mk2 Roof Rack, Prospeed Rear Access Ladder
