Hi,
So the plugs behind the cover on the d3 for trailer electrical connection ...
Question 1: Why is there 2 ? Which one do I use ?
Question 2: Is it a standard connector ? My trailer has round, not flat like my d2 did.
Bye,
Scott

Scott - the black 7 pin is the one to use. The white one is LR specific and if you had the right coupling, the air suspension would only stay at Normal height - you could not change to Access or Off Road Modes (connecting to it enables that Normal mode only). BTW - it does have a name but I can't remember it; maybe someone from the Wet Isles will be along shortly to remind us all of its name...
If you don't have a large 7 pin plug on the trailer, you could try for an adaptor at SuperCheap, Repco, etc. or have an auto electrician make one up for you.

* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

the black is 12n while the white is 12s and I believe the suspensions auto feature is disabled but can be manually changed.

12S socket is mainly used in the UK for caravans, pin out is in the site somewhere if you want to make use of it (assuming you can get the plugs over there, if not I'm sure we could send one over) The End

Thanks Slimer, I didnt know the UK used the "White" plug, i had thought it was mainly for US.
Our vehicles are pre-wired & have both plugs fitted as standard, even on base vehicles.
We have a lot of customers asking which one do i use...

do a search for 12s, some in Oz do use it for fridges and caravans and the plugs cost about $20 or so including post from the UK

Yes, just signed today on a second hand HSE. We get it tomorrow. A very BIG thank you to everyone for their advice.
So if I use the black one, will it take the standard 7-pin round plug from my trailer, or is a "different" connector ?
Bye,
Scott

Yep should plug in and just work since the D3's black plug is wired to the Australian convention.
Congrats on the purchase and enjoy the Permagrin tomorrow.

Ummmm, If the 12s white plug is used and it stops suspension auto lowering could the suspension be put in off road hight and stay there above 40 km/hr. If so a plug could be fitted with some load equal to lights and the thing would think a trailer was on and we would have controle of the suspension. could this be possible
Rob This would seem too simple to be true , oh well

Probibly only have to conect a bulb to the circuit that causes LED lights to flash on ,
I may have a play and see what happens this weekend.

Rob,
Err, if you are successful you might let on?
