Yeah, Highland is not a county, it's a region, Inverness-shire is the county within it, just like Grampian is a region and Morayshire is a county within in it. I think the last boundary change was in the 17th century.

As for living within half an hour of the Wall, you might have been, but the wrong side of it for a Scot. You've been assimilated. Laughing

You've just shown why it's not worth trying to remember the various changes of council areas, regions or whatever. As for the wrong side of Hadrian's wall I think if you look at it you will see that both sides are in England and were when I moved. Nothing wrong with living in England as long as you can quickly get back home over the border when you want. The Scots as you may know have been "assimilated", as you call it,all over the world. Thumbs Up

Del it looks as though I will probably not see the orange with black pack runner. Bow down certainly saw no such vision on the High Street this morning. We have had four weeks up here and depart south on Saturday. Get fitter. Thumbs Up Not implying of course that you are unfit.

And to think, if I'd have known you were still reasonably close, I could have let you buy me a coffee before departing. Big Cry
