Can anyone tell me if the 2011 D4 GS SDV6 (8 speed gearbox) specification, can have xenon headlights fitted and if so which ones I would need.
I would also like to know if the car will have wiring in place for fog lights and front parking sensors and would i be able to connect the headlight washer up as well.
I know this has probably all been covered elsewhere but I wanted to know if the 2011 GS, registered in December, one of the first 8 speeds, has all of the wiring in place.

Hi Alan,
The connectors to the wiring will be in place, but you'll need a front bumper loom to connect to that and then on that loom is where the parking sensors / fogs connect to.
You'll then need new light switch gear for the fogs (this new switch will also have an autolight switch that wont work until sensor, windscreen and mirror upgraded)
For front parking you should then update you centre hvac control unit to have the parking isolation button.
Edit: highlight washer needs extra pump coming from washer expansion tank.
You can straight fit xenons there are many on ebay in this pre2014 style for good value on ebay or for sale on here
All these updates are fairly straightforward- I've done most on my 2013 GS - see my gallery for some pictures and each change will Need a car configuration file (ccf) edit to tell the car this functionality is now active
I'm working my way though updating my 2013 GS , everything you have asked and more can be done Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Thanks both for the input.
Can I ask where to get the fog light switch and hvac upgrades to operate parking sensors and who in Edinburgh could do the ccd configurations for this plus xenons?
Thanks
Alan

I've spoken to my local LR main dealer and to a couple of independent guys and they all tell me that the ccf upgrade needed for xenons etc, involved in the face lift, is not possible to do.
Very confused now.

A main dealer can't do the necessary CCF updates as their system does not allow it. Most of the 'upgrades' talked about on this site are not endorsed by LR so no surprise that they say it can't be done. You just need to find the right person with the right kit or buy yourself an IID tool and do it yourself. If an Indy says they can't do it then look elsewhere as they either don't have the right kit or don't know what they are talking about (or both).

^ wot he said
If indy says it cant be done then they don't know the cars capabilities and you need to look futher afield or mobile guy - plenty on here

Like when I programmed a new key at the dealer. I was away from the chap's desk for 3 minutes, came back in and sat down, then locked the car with the new key. He couldn't believe how long it took, he said his machine wouldn't have even powered up. Officially only LR can reprogram a new key.
