track rod ends
hi gang just had whisbones and track rod ends fitted to front ,bee for 4 wheel alignment don and cant get the n/s track rod end to adjust correctly ,guy says pos wrong track rod end ... I thought both sides were the same ... any advice please

I've just bought a set and they were different prices for each side so presume they are a little different.
I'll compare them once the rain stops, if you wish
although it may just be the steering rack is positioned off centre

thanks ,just spoke to the guy who fitted the parts he says they are the same both sides for outer track rod ends and that they were the same size as the ones he took off . I had put the car into tight tolerance mode before the alignment .

Had a quick shufftie at both kits, seems both the arms and ends are exactly alike.
No doubt different threads.
Don't know why there is a difference in price

as I thought both the same... will have to investigate as to why it wont fully adjust .

I fitted new inner and outer track rods and the rods seem to be right at the limit of adjustment...they seem to jam the ends of the threads just as they get to the correct tracking.
I'm tempted to trim a couple of mil of the ends so I've got some adjustment and the inner rod doesn't completely seize in the outer.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

Bought the set from AF so hoping that these are a good OEM replacement choice.

just to add when turning corner it wont self center all the way back to straight ahead if that makes sense...
ps alignment guy said he had adjusted the toe so I could drive in a straight line till get track rod problem sorted

going back to alignment center tomorrow to get it sorted or money back (kwik fit I know lol)

update..........
all good now ... had it re aligned at same place all in the green apart from rear o/s as adjuster bolts have seized so new wishbone and bolts (after Christmas now)
