How to remove D4 3.0 sdv6 oil filter paper?
Hi, got stuck. Can't get out filter from the housing for D4 3.0 sdv6.
I've seen previous forums about adapting a hose or something similar.
I've used a socket which pushed back all 4 clips, but still filter does not want to come out.
WS photo that was posted earlier suggest on Sdv6's it should come out just by pulling, well did not work in my case.
Can someone give a pointer how to get it out not on TDv6 but SDV6 please?
Also ordered oil filter from advanced factors Mahle kit. Filter looks differen from existing Mann filter. Mahle got inside plastic frame and top diameter seems smaller too.
Have to admit I wasn't aware there was a difference. try using a bit of pipe to go down and push out the 4 clips while wiggling the paper element around.
Eurocarparts lists the same filter element for my 2010 TDV6 and a 2015 car.
Edit: the clips are at the bottom of the filter as you look at the paper element. Not sure a socket would reach them

Would be great if someone could post workshop step by step for SDV6 3.0..?
Got told by one LR specialist garage that filter should come out and no need to touch clips in the centre housing. Then forum confirm need to push back 4 clips.
Surely they could have come up with more complicated design.

Simples, skewer it with a screwdriver and pull it out
