* Its worth noting that with the older D3 the Gap between system trade values and real world private values is larger than would normally be the case. If you are selling an older D3 sell it privately Thumbs Up

Think it got everywhere. I saw it on a facebook overlanders group. The owner had it since 2002 iirc. He was one of those youtube vloggers.

It would be nice to think that my vehicle may still be in use when it is 30 years old.

same , hearing about it on the LZ forum , is good the D3 doesnt suffer as much as the D1 and D2 for a rusty chassis or bodywork

have already checked my sills and been previously undersealed which was a bonus , solid and no signs of rust

would indeed be really good if they could be kept on the road Thumbs Up

The Middle "Average" price just happens to be closer to trade values on our CAP systems.

On the Land Rover site its the "Average" price. THe first being "Showroom" and the last being "Below Average".

£3600.

Which is what I got offered in February when I considered trading it in.

54 plate HSE, 164,383 miles.

So I stuck a new set of injectors in it, a new autobox and TC, sorted some suspension bits, will get it resprayed and the underside treated.

I used the cash I was going to put to a D4 into getting a 1950 80" series 1 and a holiday.

Going to run the D3 for many years to come.

Universal truth, rarely acknowledged, is that any item is only worth what a purchaser is willing to pay at the point where the seller makes it available. If it has higher worth to the seller than the purchaser, then it is not for sale.

My 155k 2008 SE comes in at £4450 - £5300. I've been around the trade and would accept that the lower is the true value to the dealer and know that anything over that is vanity payment funded from my intended purchase. I'd rather start with them offering and sticking to that lower value then battering them on the purchase price and finance. Better that than the usual pointless "oooh sir, your shed on wheels is worth a millionty-one pounds. Of course, there's no discount on this pre-registered low spec monster in a highly undesirable colour".

Last new car I bought I was offered a daft p/ex and expected to pay top whack on the new purchase. The cost to change was monstrous when compared with the best "drive the deal" package and a low trade value on my p-ex. Dealer was "oh but sir, that deal is the other end of the country". I was all "yup, and for £90 on Fly MayBe and a pleasant weekend drive back, I'll save £3800".

I got the deal locally Thumbs Up
