I did notice a few other vids they posted it looked like it was previously rolled or something as the glass was all cracked and taped up. Maybe it was a total loss, but id have thought the parts would have been worth keeping, especially the engine and interior etc?

oh wow , i bet that cost dearly

if i go through water i've always got out and tested the depth , learnt my lesson over 20 x years ago in a series , i hydrolocked the engine Whistle

is suprising when u watch some of these videos of people sticking there foot down and going for it , even when there's a flood there is so much danger , i.e. manhole covers lifting etc

so up the bottom of the sills is the deepest i would ever go Whistle

wonder if they saved the engine and heartbreaking to see it ruined like that

also wonder if it was fresh or a salt water river , if the latter might as well say goodnight to most of it

Happy days indeed. Thumbs Up But scary when the car goes into super extended mode as it started to float on the next fording.

Not that I do that any more. Sad

Thought the RAI was a sealed unit? Is there a way to make it a sealed unit? Great video btw, did the disco's have anything else added to do that (extra plugs etc)?
Door sills is my limit, would be too worried about wrecking the Disco! Embarassed

Before I went wading with my shogun I put in raised breathers for diffs, transfer box and so on. Including a raised and sealed intake.

Did any of you do that on the disco''s?

Doesn't need any of that ...the RAI is for air not water ...even if you fit a airtight snorkel you wouldn't want water above the bonnet for anything other than a very short length of time.

Indeed it does but it's the Tana River, bit S of Karigasniemi in Finland. Will be there next summer with the D4 for same pic. One of my fave RT roads. Thumbs Up

Looks gorgeous. Just like my home country. Well, I suppose, typical northern forests. I will be flaunting my brand new sticker up north very soon. Can't wait. Very Happy

But I think the video shows that an RAI is fairly useful when wading Rolling with laughter

So the diff etc has raised air in takes or one way valves?
