First D3 problem..

Hi guys,

Our D3 has just come up with HDC fault, park brake fault, transmission fault, engine fault, maybe more.

Whilst driving at 60, the car went into I guess a limp mode and lowered the suspension.

I've stopped and re started, however now the car when sat still in drive has a hunting vibration coming through the car. I'm crawling in traffic so haven't been able to drive properly yet.

But does anyone know what this may be? I know there isn't much to go on.

I've called the place up and it will be going back, as it has warranty and I've only had it 2 days, but would just be nice to have an idea of what it may be..

Thanks Smile

EDIT: it also does the pulsing in neutral or park.

You need to get the codes read. I think a failed oil temp sensor can lead to erratic running? Others will confirm I hope.

Thanks Gareth, it's going back to the dealer on Wednesday, hopefully it'll be something simple.

It's odd as I feel the hunting, but the revs don't fluctuate at all. The fault came as I was pulling off from the services back onto the a14 dual carriage way, so accelerating not just tootling.

The fault is constant now, were now sat in a premier inn car park waiting for the RAC.

D3 ownership so far is awesome Big Cry

Simple thing to check, are both the brake light bulbs working? Sometimes that sort of cascade happens when the bulb fails and the blown filament shorts the other bit out. Worth a look at, hope it's that easy. Thumbs Up

PS When the RAC read the code make sure you write down the code numbers down, forget the descriptions just get the numbers. Then peeps can suggest cause and effect. Thumbs Up

The only code that came up after being plugged in was P0087 - low rail pressure..

Would anyone have any ideas? As it's out of my hands with warranty, I want to be sure it's fixed correctly.

Just to update this, still no car back. Sounds to me like they suspect HPFP. From reading the symptoms are similar to when they PCV fails on the HPFP, as it's intermittent according to the dealer I bought it from and it's now not going into limp mode but is potentially still hunting/missing on idle. He was happy for me to take it away, however I declined as there is obviously a problem and it hasn't fixed itself. So it's now going to a specialist for them to diagnose and hopefully repair.

Fun Very Happy
