Long Periods of Direct Sunlight |
|
This may sound a silly question but has anyone experienced all there Disco3 warning lights coming on and all the failure messages coming up due to car being out in direct sunlight for long periods of time? I am currently in France and did not use the Disco until night time to go out, turned the key as per normal and it was like Christmas all the warning lights and messages pinged up warning lights came on automatically and could not start the car. After getting a lift and coming back from a night out I thought I would try it again and hey presto fired up with no warning lights or messages this was at about 1130 pm when a lot cooler, my only guess is the the car cooled down and so rest itself?? Be grateful for any explanations or ideas if this is the case.
Thanks
John

I wonder if it's an issue with the battery? I know in work the cars are tested in a 50 Deg C ambient and solar test chamber. Also we've not had any issues in Dubai and places like that that will be significantly hotter and brighter. 1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8

Thanks Guys, no car not been stood for a long period of time less than 24 hrs since last driving it. Was in the high 20s yesterday so no where near temps in Dubai but yeah hotter than Scotland and I am only 51, think you need to go on holiday to a hot place Alan oh but then that means spending money will get a new battery and see how that goes.
Cheers guys

My son lives in Dubai and has a D4 and he has not had any problems besides usual maintainance, although the oil is changed at 6,000 miles
