A grinding noise from front wheel |
|
Hi, I have a noise coming from the passenger side front wheel when its on full lock but only when turning to the right, and only when moving, (never when stationary) there is some grease splatter around area of the rubber seal on 1 of the joints going into the engine area not sure on what its called
a friend said its the drive shaft but he's not a mechanic.
I'm looking for advice before I put it into the garage.
thanks martyn600

From your description - audio and visual - sounds like the gaiter on the driveshaft inboard CV joint has gone (grease splatter) and may have knackered the joint (grinding) - but thats only based on the description, it could still be the wheel bearing and a split gaiter, hope this helps - a bit
