EPB light, HDC light, air suspension light. 2008 disco3 auto |
|
Just leaving the Harwich to Hook of Holland ferry at the Hook and the three light appear, first was EPB I think quickly followed by the other two. We've made the campsite some 122 Km's. Plugged in Faultmate to find it doesn't recognise the vin despite being used on the vehicle before, not impressed. Suspension has dropped and I've got a 2 ton caravan behind me and this is the first day of the holiday. Need to go back to points and condensers didn't spend too much time investigating as monsoon has arrived! I have a foxwell nt644 with me which I'm new to has anyone got experience of using this kit on a disco 3? To interrogate all the units to isolate fault. Or how can I get the faultmate to work ( no I don't have the computer linked to it with me ) . Am aware of brake light bulbs, brake light switch, control unit behind battery, but would prefer to have something to go on.

Sounds like battery would be a good place to start.
How old is it and do you have access to a multi meter to see what the alternator is doing? Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control

Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.

I'm not scared, I'm outta here.

The good news - the monsoon has stopped. More good news - the Foxwell has given me a lot of fault codes. Thanks Narpy for advice, battery is showing 12.5v at rest haven't tried alternator yet as wanted to save battery for scan attempts. New AGM battery fitted and denso alternator from A F but can't remember when, it's an 08 with 52000 miles genuine (had it from new). Think alternator and battery new within 3 years.
Codes:-
ATCM - U0416-94T invalid data received from vehicle dynamics control module.
U0421-94T invalid data received from ride level control module.
Ins/cluster U0132-87/T lost comms with ride level control module

B1 D07-15 (intermittent). Right turn signal circuit.
B1 D08-11. (Intermittent). Left trailer turn signal circuit.
B1 D09-11. (Intermittent) Right trailer turn signal circuit.
Parking assist B1 B44-01 (intermittent) Rear right outer sensor.
B1 B46-01 (historic) Rear right inner sensor.
I've cleared all the faults will drive later to test but thunder and more monsoon may put a damper on that
Anyone any ideas of the train of events from these.
Thanks

Has the monsoon flooded any of the ECU's? There are some down behind the battery box that get water in the connections.
So may, wide ranging faults suggest the problem is not with the individual systems, but with something they have in common - either the battery or the canbus.
Good luck. New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

Disco Dazboy goes to the top of the class. Bought new brake light switch this afternoon and fitted it - started her up and drove a bit and no light. A bunch of codes came back after clearing this morning but cleared those out after fitting switch so we are good to go and hopefully the lights will stay off and so will the rain . Thanks to all for the efforts
