I am sure this has been covered many times before, but I am still not quite sure what to do.
Looking at a BAS remap for my 58 plate D3 with an auto gearbox, but also would like to blank the egr valves at some point.
Do I wait with a remap till the egr's are blanked, or does this not make any difference?
And I understand that I can't blank the egr's if there is a dpf fitted, but how do I know if there is or not?
Will this show up anywhere on the iid tool?
Any advice is appreciated.

i think DPF (diesel particular filter) is easy to see by getting under your car. must be another catalyst of some sort.
personally as a sequence of works would blank the EGRs, do the patch and then the re map. don't ask me why but it is what i would have done in your shoes.

Thank you for the reply.
I'll have a look under the car see what there is.

I've a 58 plate, Jan 09, D3 HSE and Geoff (site sponsor) did mine along with a BAS remap about 15 months back. Having had my EGRs go whilst still on the original warranty I didn't want them going again out of warranty. Very happy with the result.
The cost of doing them is not that great so if you are going to remap anyway I'd just get them done at the same time. I can't see any good reason to keep them anyway.
No DPF fitted to mine so probably not to yours.
