Plastic in Oil Pump

I removed my oil pickup pipe, and a bit of plastic fell out.

I'm now wondering where this came from???

Are any items in the oil pump plastic?

Yes.

That said, I have had a few sumps off with small fragments of plastic inside... Doesn't really seem to affect them Confused My D3 Build Thread

Clear plastic is the chain tensioners then ?
