Thank you we are so very grateful your help. We have ordered the tyre through Mrs Lucia and now spoken to the AA so they can tell the recovery to take the car there. I really do very much appreciate all your help. Can't say that our non smoking is going very well today but hopefully soon we will be back on the road.

It's my pleasure mate
I'm sorry about what happened.
I hope that one day the scooter man can found the wrong car...

Thanks very much. We have a tyre on order and hopefully it will arrive this afternoon.
I only hope when everything is fixed and we once again try to drive out of Milan that we do not come across those scooter riders. Not for our sake but for theirs!
Riccardo: sadly this seems the way the world is going at the moment. My wife grew up in Milan and I love Italy so this will not change my view of this wonderful country just that it has spoilt our lovely holiday.
So ... are you in same club as me ? married to an Italian but chuffing useless at the language ?.

No worse! Married to a German who grew up in Milan who speaks 5 languages fluently (me only English). And I can never win at scrabble against her! To be honest thank goodness she was with me to be able to speak to all the garages, recovery etc otherwise I'd have been very stuck!
