Can anyone suggest a led bulb to replace the sidelight bulbs please.
Was using ultraleds but have since been told by themselves that they don't recommend a led for this application The ones i had in failed so they will give me a refund, but i still want replacements. Help!!!! Too many older Land Rovers to mention

Hi, did they give a reason why they are not applicable for this use??? Bulb + 12v = lights up... What other use is there? On their side they state 'suitable for sidelight use'. The voltage range is also 12-16v which should allow for the D3's 'unique' charging voltages. (Don't mention second batteries!)
I ask as 3 of the 4 leds I fitted in the front sidelights and rear number plate have now failed within 3 months. Bought some more as assumed 1st lot maybe duff batch. Lets see what happens with these. I would be interested in Ultraleds comments though.
Cheers, Richard.
PS Not sure who else may do them... Time for some surfing.

Ultraleds told me that they didn't stock the bulbs that they had sold me anymore and that they could not recommend an alternative. Too many older Land Rovers to mention

Those were the ones I bought a few weeks ago as replacements. Two smaller LED's each side rather than one larger one... Let's see how these get on. Looks like I should send the old ones back though!

Same here. My mini-towers failed but I couldn't find the order number so they wouldn't even talk to me about a return. Annoying when they can easily check their sales records against my email address, but there you go.
Bought the replacement 9-lamp LEDs and so far, so good. Will soon report if it goes any other way! I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I fitted the U5019W mini towers in my side and numberplate lights a month ago - well pleased with the result.
I read somewhere on the UltraLEDS site that they wouldn't replace under warranty sidelight LEDS that had been fitted within 3" of a headlight bulb since understandably plastic melts at high temperature. As the sidelight bulb on many vehicles is fitted within the headlight unit and therefore in close proximity to a lot of heat, someone not familiar with the D3 front light cluster may warn against using LEDS as sidelights. Can't think of any other explanation.

LEDs may look a lttle odd in the side lights.

My sidelight LEDS have just failed. Put originals back in and intend to claim a refund from ultraled. Is there an issue here with LEDS sold as sidelights, but not suitable for duty?'' 2016 D4 Landmark

There does seem to be an issue with the early lamps, one's with one LED on each side. They now appear to be supplying a revised lamp with 2 LED's on each side. I have had these fitted for a few weeks now so still early to tell if OK. Ultraleds seem to be exchanging the old lamps if you have the receipt. Lets hope the problem is solved!

I bought a pack of 10 of THESE
Great value, look good next to Xenons. Not brightest in the world but for £20 you can do sidelights, all interiors, number plate and still have spares! What if the "Hokey Cokey" really is what it's all about?

Often thought about this one its a bit off a dilemma when you have adaptives reason as defined below
"We offer one year warranty on this product –(as far as we know we are the only company to offer any warranty on led bulbs) As long as the product has not got damp / damaged or placed closer then 8cm to a hot headlight bulb or H bulb."
So always assumed LEDs were no go in a HSE

I have to agree, I would think twice if I had adaptives.
Pop an ice blue regular bulb in to get the bright white matching your Xenons. 8) What if the "Hokey Cokey" really is what it's all about?
