Or my £6 mokka pot. Handle's gone, as is lid hinge pin, and it leaks a bit but it's the first thing on the kit list. Coffee from it is starring in my pic above.

iPad and satnav display mounts. HEADS UP
Well since this thread has pictures so here is one - I am just setting up for a scandinavian tour in August and have got a new statnav and want to have access to topo maps. - so I have brought a garmin 61LMT-D (just reduced to £199 at Halfords). It fits in the cubby hole. Original idea was to mount in on velcro and craft a wooden spacer. However, the reflection was no good - so I have cut the bracket supplied and put a bolt and locking nut through the facia to get the location I want. I looked at the Landcover upgrade option but the Garmin gives me hands free and lifetime Europe maps update plus it is a really clear screen etc.
WARNING from history:
I am an ex air force guy and i remember in the days of the Jaguar jet - they had a revolutionary moving map in the cockpit. The only issue was that at low level a friend of mine crashed into a hill (co-incidentally with the same name as his surname - spooky) because he was 'head' down. So this is a lesson from history not to be forgotten. He ejected as the trees were around his jet - unfortunately the D3 does not have a martin baker Mk10 ejection seat (now that would be a cool mod (but would need a detent device to stop operation in tunnels!) My learning is that the display must be in eye line if not going to be head down.
As for maps - I have mounted a mini iPad with Topo Maps - for the planning and finding detail of routes - so this is not for use while moving by me - my passenger yes.
The mounts are Brodit pro clip, Move clip - which is an adapter to allow me to put my iPad mount or iPhone mount in the clip (product 215503) and then the holder are 511584 - iPad mini holder and 511667 for iPhone 6 plus.
so not a cheap set up but one which i hope it will last and the Brodit stuff looks and feels well engineered, fits well and feels less expensive than Ram mounts - although did not do lots of research here. Hope this helps and happy wandering - HEADS UP
Will be interesting how this tech works out. Also interested in getting the OBD2 data out to iPhone/ipad - so looking at ELM and dash command, OBD fusion, Blue driver at the moment. I want the main engine temperatures (oil and coolant) visible and need to do thinking about what else could I see that would indicate that all is not well or is passing a threshold where stopping is a good idea - i.e the safety threshold before damage would occur.

So my Brodit turned up today, very fast postage!
daft question, how does the phone stick to the Brodit? Do I need to add some kind of sticky thing?
Cheers
Iggs
EDIT: Ah darn, I should have ordered a clip also! Not to worry, got some old ones lying around that I can use with a bit of modifying Iggy/Ieuan
