Boot light query

Has anyone tried to fit more lights in the boot headlining trim as even with an led bulb in there it is pretty poor. Just wonderdled if there is room behind the panel to cut out two more holes and fit extra lights and piggy back off the existing one in the hopes of some decent light in the back.

Looks plenty bright but me being a bit fussy definately prefer something that looks factory. I'm the sort of person that would have to have a carbon fibre bonnet painted to match the rest of the car. Insane but logical in my mind 😀

Try just upgrading the W5W bulbs as a start. These https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01EQU...&psc=1 get the big 👍 from me.

As in the front cluster.

PS Oops, just seen you've tried an LED bulb. Embarassed

I fitted a PCB with eight LEDs on it, bought from eBay, about five years as ago, fits where the old bulb was. Still going strong and very bright. Illuminates the ground at the rear of the car, very bright

I removed the lamp holder from the headlining in the boot and replaced it with a LED strip about 18 inches long.

I just used doubles sided tape to hold it in place and it covers the hole underneath so look as if it should always have been there. It's flexible enough to curve along the shape of the headlining.

All the other interior bulbs have been replaced with LED equivalents, which brightens everything up a bit.

Hard to tell from the picture but is there room for two more the same as the middle original one without it pushing the panel down once fitted back up Narpy?

Maybe an easier answer especially for factory look is to unplug the 6/7 seat lights and wire them into the second row seat lights and as led bulbs already fitted power draw should still be within the wirings limits?

Yeah there's loads of room, go for it. Thumbs Up

LED's draw very little power, a regular bulb would draw more than 3 or 4 LED's.

Cool. Can be a little project for me. Now just need to find a couple of the lamp holders and away we go. Will do a write up and some pics as I'm going. 👍
