2nd battery and invertor

Hello,

I was wondering whether anyone had any advice or recommendations.

I was thinking of having a second battery installed in to my D3, and connected to an invertor, so it can power things that require a 240v power source. I would also like it to be connected to a solar panel so the second battery can be topped up when the engine isn't running, but connected to the alternator so when he engine is running the second battery can be charged.

Can anyone give any advice, recommendations, I would probably have it done at a garage, what sort of cost am I looking at?

Thanks

Mike

Hi, try searching aux battery, split charge, solar

Can be done seperated from can-system, so no special discovery solution needed

Best off doing this thing yourself and building the system up but by bit.

E.g add solar later

There are a few 2nd battery builds on here, just do a search on "2nd+battery" Thumbs Up

I have the T-Max system with my 2nd battery you can add solar if you wish, here's a link to one on eBay (Nothing to do with me)
eBay Item No. 171695300495

Has worked without issues for around 3 years now

I run the cables through to the back, where I've adapted the rear 'cubby' cover with very many 12v sockets and USB sockets, here's my build:

Hope this helps Thumbs Up

Finally, as for the inverter, I just purchased one of the bay and use it running off one of the 12v sockets in the back Thumbs Up
