Suspension fault - dealer recommended work = confused! |
|
Hi All,
Feeling confused by information provided by main dealer!! Looking for some constructive advice please.
My 2006 Disco 3 had been showing a message - Suspension fault, normal height only' together with the related amber warning light. This message/warning light only came on after a couple of minutes of driving. When first started the vehicle would move to access height until the light came on.
I booked vehicle into main dealer but due to the waiting time the dealer suggested I call out my breakdown service in case it was something they could fix. (?) For once in my life I did as I was told but has back fired big time.
The breakdown company arrived with a low loader and when asked if they would like to look at the vehicle I was told, quote "I'm not a mechanic, I'm a lorry driver. I've come to pick it up"! Vehicle was loaded and taken to my normal main dealer.
Yesterday I was presented with a video health check of my vehicle together with a written list of work required. List follows...
i) Requires suspension compressor;
ii) n/s/r airbag damaged;
iii) recommend n/s/r level sensor and wiring;
along with other items that do not relate to suspension and are not in red.
My hesitation in agreeing the work is that to my knowledge the vehicle has not been connected to a diagnostic machine and the technician in the video would suggest that it's the level sensor and wiring that is causing the problem not all three things. During a verbal conversation with them I was told doing all three things would clear the warning... Confused!!
Are they just being overcautious by replacing all of the above or is this normal?
Apologies as I know there has been much talk on this subject in the past!!
Thanks

I wouldn't have nothing done until it's been plugged in.
