Wow J77, i was so concentrated on the off-set plate thing that i hadn't noticed the nappies!
The empty nappy surely looks better ... but boy, haven't JLR messed with the D5 back!

soory, its just wrong. I get the homage to the older Disco's with the curved window line, but it just doesnt work on the D5 by trying to do it on the big panel. It was almost like a a conversation in LR design that went - "we've got the big flat panel on the tailgate - what can we do to make it not look big and bland - Ahh, I know, lets stick a dropped down bit so that it harks back to older Disco's"
Bigger lights and number plate in the middle would have been fine, as its so far away from any older Disco anyway.

think it worked on D3/4 but needed retiring for D5..
