Longer to start... (injectors?)

Hi,

Car now takes 2-3 seconds to turn over before it fires when cold. Once it starts it runs perfectly - no lumpiness. I don't think it's glow plugs (running FBH before on a hot sunny day doesn't affect it). Battery is perfect. If I start it from cold, run it for a few seconds then start again it will fire up immediately. If I leave it for a few hours then it will take a long while to start again. Thought it might be fuel, supply but then powering up, wait a 30 seconds, powering down, powering up for 30 seconds, a couple of times before starting to get the fuel moving doesn't change things.

Not gettIng any error codes either...

Any thoughts please?

Thanks very much,

John

Mine did this 3 days before the engine blew up. Injector failure. Apparently they leak when failed so on first start up overnight there is diesel in the cylinder. Look for white smoke on start-up on your way to the garage.

Yikes, already on my second engine. Hoping by law of averages that I'm not that unlucky!

Have ordered an IID tool to arrive tomorrow, will see what it says...

Whilst waiting for my iid tool to arrive tomorrow am guessing that with (what I think are the!!!) injectors all looking clean and dry apart from one (see photo) might be the issue. Also pretty wet in the second photo where I think We removed the EGR valves?

Could be all kinds of things, i had a slow starting problem on my d3 that was glow plugs, same problem on a bmw that was fuel pump, same problem on a merc cured by using a one way valve on fuel line as fuel was heading back to the tank after switching off
The iid live values should steer you right
