MY 2014 DRL query
My 2014 runs with the front drl's and the rear lights plus number plate lights, is this right, can I turn the rears off?
Cheers

Is it a face-lift model?
If so
When the light switch is in off position only signature lights on front come on. When indicating the light switches off on the indicator side
In first position on signature lights on front and lights at back on Inc reg plate. When indicating the front light goes to half power but stays lit
In position two all lights on Inc headlights, no change when indicating
In auto position, daytime the front sigs come on only until low light then all lights illuminate.
There you go
Clear as mud π
Dunc
BTW that's only if it's a face-lift model and also if it's a se or hse but I stand to be corrected on that one πlife is tooooo short.enjoy the moment.dont worry be happy

Sorry but that's not accurate.
If switch is in position 0 (off) led drls are bright and dim on indicating side when indicating.
If switch is in position 1 (sidelights) or 2 (headlights) led drls are dim, no change when indicating (headlights will be on in pos 2).
If switch is in position 3 (auto) then functionality is same as pos 0 when light and pos 2 when dark
Rear lights only on if switch in pos 1 or 2 and 3 if detected as dark.
Some MY 2016 landmarks seem to have the rear lights on whatever the switch position, see other threads.

DRL's can be turned off, its in the manual.
Make sure the vehicle's ignition is switched off, and the lighting switch is in the Off position (1).
Switch the vehicle's ignition on.
Turn the lighting switch to the Low beam headlamps on position (3).
Turn the lighting switch back to the Off position (1).
Press and hold the rear fog lamp switch for more than 2 seconds.
Release the rear fog lamp switch.
Turn the lighting switch to the Low beam headlamps on position (3).
Turn the lighting switch back to the Off position (1).
Turn the vehicle's ignition off.
Repeat the above to turn them back on again.
Note: All the above MUST be completed in less than 20 seconds!D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Thanks for the replies but let me add...
Yes it's a face lift model, when the switch is in the off (0) position, the front signature lights are on bright but also the rear lights and number plate lights are on, looks like some MY2016 are like this...

Sounds similar to the Scandinavian setting in the ccf where rear lights on by default- any chance you can check those settings on an IID Tool or Nanocom?Stolen - D4 Loire Blue

On my my16 it's just the front sig lights on with the switch in off position, when you put side lights or headlights on they dim down and of course rear lights onπMY24 Defender 90 X-Dynamic HSE

I've just checked the CCF of my MY14 and the DRL setting is Standard active. Scandinavian and Canadian are inactive D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Ezz, mine's a MY14 too and with the DRLs set to ON, the rear lights and the number plate lights are on too. I can only assume it's the design intent.
There has been discussion on a few forums about people assuming that if they have DRLs, their rear lights are on and so not switching their side lights on when they really should do. Having the rear lights come on with the DRLs solves this problem, so maybe that's why JLR went for that option?D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Maybe,
I see loads of MY2014,2015and2016, they all have the fronts on but nothing at the rear,
So when your switch is in the off position your drl's are on, front and rear?
