Quote:I'm going to sort out a full kit tomorrow
I have a bulb kit I put together for trips to France. It's yours if you want it (along with the towbar etc).
I also have a couple of brake light switches - also handy to keep one in reserve. Again, yours if you want them. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Three bulbs one side
Two bulbs the other
I've always bought the LR OEM ones.

Tend to agree. Buy decent quality and you will be ok.
Buy cheapos and you'll regret it.......but with these cars, you may not realise it was the bulbs causing your whole world of pain, until sometime after you've resolved the issues which you thought were totally unrelated!!!!!!
Buy good 'uns, not cheap 'uns. Mods:

I agree with buying decent bulbs, learned a lesson with a Mercedes, always changing headlamp bulbs fro motor factor, fitted quality ones and no more probs, my D3 is new to me so not sure what it had fitted. 2006 D3 2.7tdv6 SE Zermatt (6A)

Yep fitted named bulbs bosch/philips etc and none seem to last forever, I reckon Ive blown at least three in 2 years and when one goes I change both sides.
Sadly bulbs dont last forever no matter what the make, at work I would guess across the three shifts we change minimum 50 bulbs a day every day, not because they are all blown but each lamp has 3 bulbs and if 1 fails all 3 get changed, but invariably the 2 that have not blown are starting to go black so failure is just around the corner, weirdly brake bulbs maybe 1 a week!
We have managed to work out the average bulb life is 6 to 8 months and approx 70 to 100k, quite often less.
