Mantec non winch front under body protection

AP Moller and I took delivery of our Mantec plates today!!
We were both pleasantly surprised at how easy they were to fit. There is no cutting required as with the winch compatible plate. Thanks so much to AP who did all the sourcing/organising work with Karl the Mantec agent in JHB. We may not have a BRS agent in Cape Town, but AP made it all so easy. Thanks! Wink

The only glitch in installation is lining up the 2 threaded holes in one plate with the overlapping bolt holes in another that lie under the Mantec plate in the front. It required a little fiddling with both of us under the vehicle, but was no sweat at all. The rear 2 bolts were no problem. The plates fitted exceptionally snugly and our babies now look awesome!! Bring on the dunes!

Andrew,

May I ask how much? I enquired with Karl a couple of weeks ago but he never got back to me.

PS They look great, now you both need some decent rubber!!!

Hi Rob.

Total Inc. vat but excluding freight is R4 788. This is R1k less than the Land Rover winch compatible plate. Thumbs Up
AP is getting his General Grabber AT2's soon!! I'll check his out and see if they are worth the monster cash outlay! Neutral

Thanks, and the Grabbers are worth it. Not sure how many km's you've done but when it comes time to replace your Wranglers (and that time is sooner than you think) the Grabbers are a similar price - so either way it's a huge cash outlay.

Heine. It's something I have seen elsewhere on this site. I guess its just to protect us against weirdo net crawlers. Also, I have posted images of AP Moller's vehicle, so I don't want to publicise any of his private info.

some tupperware gone.

Andrew,
Thanks again for your help with the fitting. Thumbs Up

For the record: very simple, no cutting required. the LR plate stays in place.
Due to a dented, buckled LR belly plate and swamp remnants, the fitting on mine was more tricky (after we got rid of the croc eggs). Rolling with laughter
Andrew's fitting was quick with a little adjustment only.

Heine, our plates are blocked out because we are so cool 8) and blinged up that we need to remain incognito.
(spot part of Lion's Head in the back) and untraceable!! Very Happy

Incognito? I'm no Tom Selleck but let's see, we have an AP Moller and Andrew van den Heever living in Cape Town. Hand me the Telkom directory Muriel, this won't be difficult Whistle

Ordered my plate from Karl this morning, so one of you expect a call if I can't get it on next weekend.

He he. I know Rob, it's a bit dof hey? Anyway, I maily did it to protect AP, and not to offend him by posting his reg. details.
No worries if you want any advice on fitting the plate. It really is easy. Hey, when you are done we could get a photo of all 3 of us with our number plates in full view!! Thumbs Up

When I registered on this site for some reason I didn't realise that I had to enter a "user name" and not my real name, so I don't have anything cool like: "Darth-Vader-Disco" or something. Ah well at least there's Rob Harvey, Deon "de Villiers?", AP Moller, and of course Heine and baben, so I guess I'm in good company. Still....."Vroomen-White-design" or something would have been pretty cool.

Looks very cool!

I was at BRS this morning, dropping off our D3 to have the rear wheel carrier installed, and he told me AP had received the 2 plates. He will be pleased to see the results - he trawls this site once in a while.
