Drivers seat extended rails ??

Does anyone make extended seat rails for a D4, to enable the seat to be moved back further?

The normal position is a little cramped for lager people, so interested if it can be moved back about 3".

A quick Google search only picks up ones for the Defender.

I would hazard a guess that any kit car supplier will have what you want.

As the seat belt is anchored to the seat, I don't think moving it back will be simple as the crash loading on the seat base would change dramatically .

But wouldn't that be the case anyway?

If all attachments move with the seat, they stay the same in relation to the person on the seat so hold them in the same position? The belt attachment on the pillar would also still be behind the seat so restraint would be unaffected, or have I missed something?

This is why I'm asking the question, as there may be a very good (safety) reason not to do this.

Thanks, hadn't considered them as a source.

My observation is that the seat will be in a different position relative to the existing seat mounting base and as the belt anchorages are to the seat, those fixings , in a crash ,will have to take a load possibly totally different from that they were designed to encounter. Crash loads can come from all directions so its not just a frontal impact. I may be over cautious but any modification would need advising to ones insurers.
