Japanese/smog connector

I'm trying to fit DRLs in the grill, as I did on previous D4 before it was nicked but thought I'd be "clever" and use the dummy half of the smog sensor connector.

it was all going well until I tried to get pins that would mate with the contacts in the factory-wired socket half of the connector ... I've filed things down, built others up with solder, tried just stiffening the wires with solder but nothing seems to work and stay in place.

it doesn't have to be 100% as per the a proper mating connector ... just a way of being able to separate it and take the grill off the car should I need to ... but before I give up and use a 3-way connector wired in parallel with the factory-fitted one (+ feed from sidelights, of course) does anybody know where I can get suitable pins ? or even the proper plug ?

cheers.

As you're unlikely to use it as it's original purpose, just cut off the connector and fit a standard 2-pin.
Look for AMP connectors on ebay. Waterproof and not too expensive.
