I wonder if anyone can tell me if the LR sidestep brackets are the same as the non LR ones and whether or not the steps themselves are interchangeable?

I fitted non OEM steps about 5 years ago and they fitted properly.
About 2 years ago I had to replace them. The aluminium trim falls off.
I was going to fit the new steps to the old brackets, which were sound but the old brackets didn't suit the new steps, raising them up higher than the bottom of the doors, which isn't much use. I had to change the brackets as well.
So I guess the answer to your question is that the brackets fit in the holes LR put there for the purpose but there are different patterns of steps.
