Disco 3. - I'm a new owner

Hi, and thanks for letting me Join
Just bought a Disco 3 SE model 2006

I bought it off my brother and it is in good nick. A couple queries though.
The FBH is unplugged. He was told this is done to stop all the black smoke coming from the exhaust when
Accelerating

Sometimes when I apply the electronic handbrake it makes a whirling noise and a yellow icon displays on the dash

Are there any precautions you need to take when removing the wheels i.e. Does the suspension have to be in a certain mode. My previous Audi Allroad had to be put in tow mode before jacking it up.

Many thanks in advance

Welcome. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Just jack it up, that's what I do, usually under the suspension arm to make it easier.

Plug your fbh back in and it sounds like you might have a split IC hose.

Bodsy has done a great guide for adjusting the parking brake. Look up bodsy brake bible.

IC hose is very easy to replace (assuming it's the large one) but you'd need to check if it is the hose causing black smoke (could be one of a few things causing it) . A few people inc myself went for aftermarket silicone hose

Any photos of the new car?

Plug your FBH back in too, the black smoke won't be related to that.
