Restricted Performance advice

Following a trip up the M6 to the Lakes towing the Caravan I got the dreaded restricted performance warning
The car is a TDV6 2010 HSE, the warning kept resetting and coming back during the holiday and was joined by the engine management light on the return trip with the van.

When plugged in it is showing low turbo pressure and fuel air correlation faults

The was also a whooshing type noise when the engine was pulling / turbo operating.

I am hoping it may be a hose or something simple, although fear more expense is on the way

Any suggestion what to look for .......

Cheers
Ian

mhmmmm

first i'm thinking about turbo hoses or splitted intercooler

other causes should be by-pass valve or cracked manifold....

Mileage?

Can you read the DTCs (ECUs errors)?

Snap!
Mine did exactly the same - diagnosed as a faulty vacuum switch on one of the turbos - took a while to diagnose as was intermittent
Waiting for part to be fitted

Last June, and then in December, I had the "Restricted Performance" message pop up, together with the said drop in power. Both times, we were towing the caravan, and it happened at exactly the same place. The fault codes pointed to the LP turbo, but as it happened so occasionally, I didn't push for a repair. When I recently called in to my LR Indi, he said that he'd done a bit of research, and found that LR had issued bulletins re this, and before turbo's are replaced, check A, B, and C. A was the 'O'-ring on the air intake pipe, which in my case it turned out to be. Since having had it replaced, the car seems smoother and more responsive. Granted, it might be placebo, but............ Plus, the £30-odd for the part was a lot cheaper than a new turbo, even if WD would have been called upon to foot the bill! Not sure what options B and C were, but worth checking. Oh, and that's on a MY2010.
