D3 V8
Well I thought I would finally add mine here!
This is my fourth D3, an '06 V8 HSE. As you can see, I bought her after she'd had a bit of a prang. After about two weeks, £700 of parts and then an MOT she went from this:
To this:
Not sure about the D4 grille, but it came with the rest of the parts. The only 'mod' I'll do is putting some AT tyres on but as the Scorpions are nearly new I'll wait for that.
Initially thought it had a gearbox leak which turned out to actually be a coolant leak which was easily fixed. Only problem now is intermittent sound from the radio, but the engine sounds nice enough on its own .
She's a keeper, so I'll be keeping on top of maintenance and keep her running for as long as possible!

Well done looks like nothing has ever happened to it
Can I ask how much it owes you now including the repair and is it more to insure?
Thinking of going down same route for a proper green lane one,SHMBO won't let me use her's unless it needs fuel2006 D3 HSE

Thanks! There are a few scratches on it but it doesn't really bother me as it will have a film of dust/mud over it!
All in it owes me under £4k, so I'm pleased with the result. Insurance seems unchanged or very little difference off the top of my head, compared to my previous V8 which had never been involved in a claim.

Seems a bargain now but I can assure you I was sweating a bit to start with as when I went to view the battery had gone so had no idea if it ran, drove or anything, so a lucky gamble.

Todays jobs
New PCV - looks like old one was leaking-
Then time for a throttle body clean up-
A 45 minute job and well worth the effort, done for another year.

MAF clean done too
Driving experience is MUCH improved, smoother, and as a bonus seem to have gained an extra 1 MPG
