Discovery 4 wheel question

Folks

I have a set of 22" wheels on my disco 4 (The black vehicle) that can be seen from the upper photo but wanted to change out for a set of 19" shown on the lower photo (Borrowed from the internet).

The 22"s are in great condition though the tyres are getting past their prime.

Anybody fancy doing a swap or offer any advice where I can get a set of the 19" in the photo.

EDIT Seems like my photos wont embed so please look in my gallery for the photos Sad

Thanks

Tim

Hi,

Think the ones you are after are 20 inch Landmark alloys.

Thumbs Up

Thanks for the information. I 'thought' they were 19" but will stand corrected.

Is it true that the 19" will allow the ride to run much smoother than my current 22" and even the 20".

Thanks for your help from this novice.

I've always had 19 inch wheels, but certain you will notice a positive difference if you reduce the size of rims.

as you go down in rim size you go up in tyre profile, so you get a bigger sidewall. That, in general gets you a softer (some say) smoother ride.

But it can also depend on tyre type and manufacturer, and tyre pressures.

What tyre spec is on your 22's (my gut feeling is they wont be weight rated high enough for your D4 anyway), and yes the alloy type you have said you want is a Landmark 20" wheel.

A set of those fitted with 255/50x20 tyres would give a comfier ride than the 22's.
