Detachable tow hitch ball bearing size

Hi Guys,

New to Landrover having bought a 14Plate Aintree Green D4 recently. Loving it so far. The car came with detachable towbar fitted. The knob had got a knock and the pin was bent so took it off last night to take the pin out to straighten it and fit a new lock.

And I lost the ball bearing!

Does anyone happen to know what diameter it is as I searched hi and lo but no sign of it !.

Thanks.Paul.

Hi Al,

I was kind of thinking that, as I have all back together again and seems to be working fine (on the bench) - but thought - well it can't just be there for nothing !

The ball bearing helps to stop the locking tongue walking backwards out of the slot, so worth replacing. I think they are 4mm but my memory is rubbish.

Have ordered a selection and will let the forum know which it is. If anyone needs one after that, let me know and I'll sent them one over FOC.
