Fitted tree sliders today
So fitted the tree sliders I got for my birthday. Easy enough job, except for the bloody yellow trim clips, which are a sod to get out.
Undo the two screws holding on the plastic trim in the rear wheel arch and undo a screw in the plastic trim just behind the front whe arch (don't throw this one away as it's replaced at the end). Using a trim removal tool undo the black trim clips on the bottom and then remove the trim.
Remove the yellow trim clips, they can be cracked with a screwdriver and rubber mallet if they break.
Clean the sill and cover the holes where the trim clips came from with tape. Remove the dust tape from the holes that align with the sliders.
Apply wax, dinitrol or similar and lift the sliders up to mate with the holes. Use a trolley jack to help.
Plenty of copper slip and screw in, starting in the middle and working out. Torque to 22nm (I did 25nm)

Waiting for mine to come back from being Raptor coated and will be fitting mine shortly.
What type of tape did you use to cover the unused holes up? And did you just use the dinitrol aerosol?

Mr Tom
The £260 ones? If so they only appear to have two strengtheners on eBay where yours appear to have five.
Thanks

Did you have to do anything to the front trim? Tried aligning them and slotting them behind but it doesn't want to go!
Inside the trim there's a clip that takes the plastic sill covers, you have to get the front of the slider past this, I found it easier at a slight upward angle, or another pair of hands Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Thanks!
I tried stupidly to go it alone but soon regretted it! Then I ran out of light! Will have to try again tomorrow, with another pair of hands!
I did mine solo, support the slider on a trolley Jack, engage the front in the trim at an upward angle , clear the clip pushing forward as you level out and pump the jack up to hold in place for bolting up Altox GSM FBH controller thread

The Terrafirma instructions say to 'remove the alignment brackets'. These must fit slightly different to others.
