Front Parking Aid PDC Issue
Hi
Could really do with some help here.
The other day, I got the 'Front Parking Distance Aid Inactive' message.
Grabbed the iiD tool and it showed the Front Left Outer Sensor with a fault. So I ordered a new sensor, and changed the car config to Rear sensors only. With the front deactivated, the rears work fine.
When the new sensor arrived, I managed to install it through the fog light, turned the front sensors back on, and all appears OK. But once the engine is running it keeps randomly beeping.
When you watch the sensors on the IID tool, all 4 are constantly fluctuating when the engine is running.
I then removed the front bumper, and checked all the wires in the loom both visably and then with a meter (including whilst moving them about) and re-made all the connections. I have also run the IID tool on graph view for the 4 sensors and willed every bit of wire in the bumper and all the wiring under the Right headlamp where the connections are.
I have also replaced the other outer sensor (as I ordered 2) but this doesn't help either.
Everything works as expected without the engine running. So if I turn the ignition to position 2 and put it in D and release the EPB everything works fine-including when looking at the sensors on the IID.
So, as a next step, I thought maybe the blown sensor damaged the Parking Aid Module, so I have just tried replacing that- which hasn't made any difference.
I have tried turning things off and on whilst watching the IID but nothing makes a difference (apart from pressing the PDC button which obviously gives your ears a rest from the constant beeping
So now I am stumped....Anyone had issues with the front sensors but only when the engine is running?
I have attached a pic of the log and highlighted where i stood in front of each sensor so you can see they are all working independently. But they are all fluctuating the rest of the time, thus the beeping.

Oh, and I swapped the Brake Switch too (because I had one and I'm aware it can cause electrical gremlins) 2005 Discovery 3 HSE

Thanks for reply. Not sure (other than buying a new loom for the bumper) how else I can test the wiring?
No change in resistance or continuity whilst wiggling wires with bumper off. No change in behaviour whilst wiggling wires watching the live data from the IID tool.
Anything else I should test?2005 Discovery 3 HSE

Thanks Danish. There is nothing visible like that on my loom. Have now ordered a loom (eBay) and a genuine sensor....2005 Discovery 3 HSE

So, this is now fixed. Both sensors I bought from LR Trade Parts are faulty. I did call them the other day and ask if they had had any issues with them-they said they have sold over 400 with no returns-well they are about to get 2 returns!
After replacing 2 sensors, a PDC module and a loom I have now fitted a genuine sensor and all is perfect.

How much did they charge you for a genuine front sensor?

That was the annoying thing. I bought 2 from a guy on eBay who had 10 for sale-genuine-sealed Land Rover bags. He was asking £25 each or best offer. So I offered £40 for 2 and he agreed. So I was lucky enough to get them for £5 more than crap ones!2005 Discovery 3 HSE
